How to shop smart!

Hello!
Whenever I shop, I always try to get high-quality material clothes because they will feel better on the body, look nicer and will last me longer. That is why in today's post I will give you some advice on how to shop for clothes in a smarter way. By that I mean how to distinguish which clothing items are high-quality and are worth spending more money on.

I. Get more wear out of your clothes
If you're buying an expensive item and want to get your money's worth, buy something that is first of all- you and second- something that you know you will get a lot of use of- something that doesn't go out of style, something more simple and versatile, preferably in a neutral color (example: little black dress). However, you can also go for a unique piece which you can combine with neutral colors. For example a bright skirt or a neon clutch can be worn for an everyday look with all neutral colors and it will still look subtle.

II. Fabric knowledge
When shopping for clothes, especially if you are going to spend more money, make sure to always look at what the cloth is made of. Nowadays people have gotten very good at imitating natural fabrics so even if something looks and feels good, make sure you check the tag and read what it is made of. Always look for natural, rather than man-made synthetic fabrics. The natural fabrics you should look for are cashmere, cotton, hemplinen, silk and wool. The synthetic fibers that you should avoid are acrylic, modal, nylon, polyester, rayon and spandex.
However, when buying something made from cotton, you might want to avoid 100% cotton clothes, because cotton is a very poorly resilient fiber and if you don't take proper care, it will shrink. Look for a garment made out of cotton and a synthetic fiber, for example cotton and polyester.
It is important to buy lingerie made with natural fabrics because there is nothing worse than feeling uncomfortable during the day because of a low-quality bra and undies.

III. Always look at the stitching.
Whenever you find a piece of clothing you like, except trying it on, make sure you look carefully at the stitching. You know that what you've found is high-quality if the steaming is not pulling apart and the stitching is tight. So make sure you play with the garment while in the store- stretch it, pull it a little bit and don't be afraid to do so, because nothing will happen to a high-quality garment. Best places to look at are the more detailed places like the sleeves and collar. Also look at the way the buttons are sewed on and at any other details that the garment might have.

IV. Genuine vs. Faux
I do know that some people are against genuine leather and fur and I understand that. If you are one of those people, skip this step. If you are not one of those people, I would suggest you invest in genuine leathers instead of faux. For example a real leather jacket will look better, last longer and will keep you a lot warmer than a faux leather jacket. However, if you cannot afford a genuine leather jacket, I would suggest you try finding one that is made out of very high-quality faux material.

V. Jackets
Speaking of jackets- when buying them, always look at the inside lining. If it is a high-quality jacket the sleeves will be made nicely and the material that is used for the inside will be high-quality material as well (example: a leather jacket with silk on the inside).

VI. Love yourself!
Last but not least, always make sure the piece of clothing fits you perfectly and you love the way you look in it. Sometimes just because the garment is in your size, doesn't mean that it will fit you perfectly. Sometimes you might need that garment smaller or larger (depending on the type), that is why I suggest you always try it on before you buy it. However, most of the times when it is a high-quality garment the sizing will be good, but even then I suggest you try it on and make sure you love everything about the piece of clothing, especially if it is for a special occasion or you are going to spend a lot of money on it. Or even for an every day garment- you need to love the way it makes you look, if you want to get a lot of wear out of it.

I hope that with this post I have helped you become a better shopper, when it comes to clothes!
